On 23rd September 2018, Vikasatarangini Rajam conducted a telugu-poem-competition in Ve:mana and Sumathi Sataka Padyams. Over 210 students from 70 schools in Rajam, Regidi, Santakaviti Mandals, participated in the competitions.
The kids performed amazingly well and the poems themselves are so very wonderful that sweetness pours when anyone renders them with devotion.
These are poems on wisdom, morals and ethics written in a simple style. The Ve:mana padyams were written by Sri Ve:mana sometime during 16 or 17 century. He was a Telugu philosopher and poet writing in Telugu. And Sumathi Satakams are said to have been composed by Baddena Bhupaludu (AD 1220-1280).
