On 9-12-2017 , Beersaipeta Jeeyar Gurukulam conducted “Sataka Padyalu” (Work by poets containing more than 100 poems) competitions for 6th – 10th class students.

Students participated with great enthusiasm. The participants must recite a few number of poems in 10 mins.
It was indeed amazing to see the kids rendering the poems with ease, perfection and with a rhythmic flow.

But, if you wonder: Why ? What is that amazing about kids reciting poems ?

These are students are from remote villages and are studying in our Jeeyar Gurukulam. Jeeyar Gurukulam is probably the only affordable school for these kids for at least 20-30 kms around them. Their parents are simple village folks, many of whom are probably uneducated. The students not only study normal subjects, they even learn and participate in many activities like sports, drawing, quizzes etc. And while they are at the Gurukulam, they follow all the prescribed methods of prayers and conduct, very systematically and obediently.

And that is why their mere participation is so encouraging and when they compete in inter-school activities and excel, they have really achieved something!

1st Prize winner: S Soujanya – 8th class – Read about 50 in 10 mins
2nd Prize winner: A Ashwini Rani – 9th class – Read about 37 poems in 10 mins

On 22/12/2017 Srinivasan Ramanujan Birth Anniversary was celebrated as “Mathematics Day”. Quiz competitions were conducted for students in Math, with Sriman Sudheer and S.Prabhakar Rao as chief guests.

P.Saraswathi from 10th class and Ashwini Rani from 9th class, took home the first and second prizes respectively.

Sriman Sudheer garu, visited all the classes from 6th – 10th and expressed his views on the subject. He gave several tips to the students and encouraged them to do well in their studies.
