Background

Vikasa Tarangini and VT Seva were both founded by H.H. Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, serving society through practical, need based projects.

Vikasa Tarangini was established in India in 1992 and has since supported free education, healthcare services, women's cancer screening camps, disaster relief, drinking water access, clothing and food distribution, and animal welfare camps. VT Seva was founded in the USA in 2008 as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, serving through centers across the country while also focusing on youth leadership programs, and extending outreach support to initiatives in India. Together, the two organizations work as volunteer driven non profit organizations, united in mission and reach across both countries.

Our Response

Continuing this mission of service, the two organizations came together to launch Vaidyalaya Seva, an initiative dedicated to improving public healthcare infrastructure by creating cleaner, safer and more dignified environments for patients and healthcare workers.

The Need

Restoring Dignity Where It Matters Most

The Modern Government Maternity Hospital (MGMH) in Petlaburj, Hyderabad serves thousands of expectant mothers, newborns, and families every month. As one of the city's busiest public maternity hospitals, maintaining hygienic patient facilities is essential for quality healthcare.

During a joint assessment with hospital authorities, several patient washrooms were found to be in severely deteriorated condition. Broken fixtures, damaged flooring, leaking plumbing, stagnant water, and poor sanitation had made many facilities difficult to use, compromising hygiene, comfort, and dignity for patients and healthcare staff alike.

Recognizing the urgent need for improvement, the hospital administration sought support to restore these essential facilities and provide a cleaner, safer environment for everyone who depends on the hospital's services.

Execution

From Vision to Reality

The project was executed through careful planning and close collaboration with the hospital administration to ensure that renovation work progressed smoothly without disrupting essential medical services.

The journey included:

Assessment & Documentation

A detailed survey was conducted to identify priority areas requiring immediate renovation.

Renovation plans were developed in consultation with hospital authorities to minimize disruption to patient care.

Renovation

Damaged toilets, plumbing systems, flooring, fixtures, and essential infrastructure were repaired or replaced to restore functionality.

Quality Inspection

The renovated facilities were thoroughly inspected, cleaned, and prepared to meet hygienic standards.

Dedication

The completed facilities were inaugurated and dedicated to public service with the blessings of H.H. Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, marking the successful completion of this Vaidyalaya Seva project.

Impact

A Transformation That Will Serve Thousands

The renovation has significantly improved the hygiene, usability, and overall environment of the hospital's washroom facilities.

Patients now have access to cleaner and safer sanitation facilities, while healthcare professionals benefit from an improved working environment. Most importantly, the project has restored dignity to an essential aspect of patient care that is often overlooked.

What's Next?

The Journey Continues

The Modern Government Maternity Hospital (MGMH) renovation is just the beginning. To commemorate the 70th Tirunakshatram of H.H. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, founder of Vikasa Tarangini Seva and VT Seva, we have launched an ambitious mission to complete at least 70 Vaidyalaya Seva projects. Together with volunteers, donors, healthcare institutions, and community partners, we aim to transform public healthcare facilities into cleaner, safer, and more dignified spaces for every patient.

Mission: Complete at least 70 Vaidyalaya Seva projects, commemorating the 70th Tirunakshatram of H.H. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji.

Vikasa Tarangini and VT Seva organizations aim to partner with hospitals, volunteers, donors, and community organizations to address these needs through sustainable infrastructure improvements.

Future initiatives will focus on:

  • Hospital sanitation and washroom renovations
  • Patient ward improvements
  • Drinking water facilities
  • Patient waiting areas
  • Healthcare infrastructure upgrades
  • Provide Ambulances
  • Provide nutritious food to outpatients, patient families and hospital staff

Together, we envision government hospitals where every patient is welcomed with cleanliness, dignity, comfort, and hope.
