HH Sri Chinnajeeyar Swamiji in presence of Karimnagar District Collector and MLA and other officers have inaugurated the Early Cancer Detection Camp in Durusedu village . HH Sri Swamiji explained how Vikasa Tarangini volunteers have taken training from the doctors and how they are conducting the Early Cancer Detection Camps in the rural areas.

VT volunteers have conducted a survey in this village called Durusedu prior to conducting this camp. In Dursedu Village, there are 540 women. Of them 259 got checked with the tests. A Comparative study between VIA test and PAP Smear test is being conducted by the team. After conducting both the tests 39 suspected cases were found. As a first level of treatment they gave necessary antibiotics and the suspects will be reviewed after a week to study the results and give further guidance. Ananda Rao Medical College staff and students were taking part in this endeavour to eradicate cancer, a project taken up by VT.

Next to Durusedu, Viaka Tarangini has chosen village Velichala where the volunteers have Conducted Survey – A Report has been prepared and it was found that there are 1049 women in the village. It has been decided to conduct a 3 days camp. VT volunteers conducted survey in the village, motivated and educated women about the health concerns and the Cancer tests and the need to get checked. Cancer Pamphlets were distributed by Karimnagar Dist VT.

27th May 2010 evening, Inauguration of the Medical Camp was done by VT in the presence of HH Sri Chinnajeeyar Swamiji. Working MLA, Ex MLA and other dignitaries were present on the occasion. Smt. Subbalaxmi, Smt Radhika and their team of 4 members have come from Vijayawada to conduct the camp and train the volunteers in conducting the tests like VIA and PAPSMEAR.

Anandarao Medical College Karimnagar has taken up this task of conducting Cancer Awareness and early detection tests with the help of VT. Every week for 3 days their students from 3 depts viz., gynic, pathology etc., are doing this service. PG Students and other medical students on behalf of Medical college are doing this as a project.

VT People will go to each village and conduct survey. They’ll motivate people, educate them and bring them to the camp so that they can be diagnosed with the tests. Ananda Rao Medical College students join them to conduct the camp for tests under able guidance of doctors.
