Guest Lecture on Cancer Camp Program

As invited by the Professor Srimathi Dr. Prabha from the university for a guest lecture on our Vikasatarangini activities adiyen had by the grace of our Acharya, an opportunity to share whatever little is known about our service activities and also the experiences on Mahila Arogya Vikas.

The program was organised by the National Service Scheme team of the University. The program was presided by the Dean of the Textiles Department Srimathi Vasuki Raja and introduction and welcome address given by Srimathi Sylvia Subapriya, head and Co-ordinator of NSS. It started at 11 am and ended at 12:30pm. It was attended by 150 students and around 10 faculty members.

As the time allotted to us was one hour, adiyen was able to explain to them elaborately,the specialty of our cancer awareness and prevention programs using the Colposcope, the need for such cancer awareness camps, the systematic way they are conducted and also the foolproof way of our sterilization process and also the followup done which is the key factor. Statistics related to the screening and prevention done so far was also informed. and also information regarding our newly and ingenuously developed Vikasa tarangini Colposcope was given.

The lecture was fruitful as the entire crowd was attentive and were amazed to know about the instrument, Colposcope and quite surprised when told that this is done for free mainly for the under privileged people. The NSS staff and students expressed their eagerness to jointly do such a Cancer camp with us as their NSS activity. The following link has the photos taken in the university during the guest lecture.
