Cancer Awareness and Detection Camp Conducted By Women Health Care Team In Coimbatore On 19th June, 2016
Coimbatore Vikasatarangini, through (Mahila Arogya Vikas) Women Health Care Team conducted cancer awareness camp at Annur, a small suburb on the outskirts of Coimbatore, on 19th June, 2016 . The program was well organised by the Universal Peace Foundation in Dasa Balangika Seva Sanga premises wherein 172 women turned out to be the beneficiaries. A survey was also done in twelve villages around Annur well in advance as per procedure, by the staff of UPF under Vikasatarangini guidance. The program started with a prayer and lighting of Deepam at 9:30 am by Sri Shivatma Guruji and Vikasatarangini president Sri Varadarajan. The crowd was briefed about the benefit of such programs by our camp doctor Srimathi Chitra.
Later the beneficiaries were asked to sign the consent form and allowed entry for the testing. The testing was done under the guidance of Smt Madhavi Ravindra who also gave training to our Coimbatore team the previous day. Free medicines were distributed to those whom the doctor prescribed and those who needed further screening tests were asked to visit the hospital.
Totally 14 women were identified as follow-up cases and were referred to the PSG hospital where the camp doctor works. Apart from this, aged people who had other problems were given acupuncture, Prana and Siddha healing by our Coimbatore Vikasatarangini members. Annadaanam was also done for the under privileged in the premises. Counselling was done by our members on health and hygiene.
The camp concluded peacefully and satisfactorily with the grace of our Acharya at 4 o’clock in the evening. Those who are going for further screening are presently being monitored by our members. A link has been attached here for viewing the camp photos.
