Rajam VikasaTarangini took a wonderful initiative to protect Mother Earth on Ganesh Chaturthi.
Every year, lakhs of Ganesha idols made of plaster are immersed in water after Ganesh Chaturthi festival, there by polluting water.
This initiative was done in 5 mandals covering all schools where thousands of children participated in this program.
Initially, the program kicked off with preparation of wooden molds. Then a press meet was conducted to create awareness. Volunteers went to schools and impressed upon students to make clay idols.
As a result, thousands of students participated along with their teachers and learnt how to make clay idols. They distributed them as well as took the idol they made to their homes. They felt very happy with their contribution in keeping the environment clean.
The school managements also felt very happy and promised to increase more awareness in children on how to save Earth‘s resources.
