World Cancer Day is an international day marked on February 4 to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. 

Mahila Arogya Vikas (MAV) has conducted a mega camp on Feb 8th screening over 2000 women at Jythri convention center Shamshabad.

Mahila Arogya Vikas(MAV)  has been working on this concept since 2007 to raise awareness among the women in multiple states Gracing the event HH Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji said said that the women is the backbone of the society. He insisted that she has to take care of her health and would open up to discuss her problems to avoid deadly diseases like Breast and cervical cancer.

This Mega camp was conducted to provide cancer screening facility for  2000 women.

Since the inception of this program by Mahila Arogya Vikas they have conducted about 1090 camps and screened over 11,00,000 women for Breast and cervical cancer.

Every year in India around 77,300 women  are recorded as cancer and out of that 33,000 are dying because of cancer.

Mahila Arigya Vikas has been working their part to raise awareness by conducting camps and educating women from rural areas to prevent these deaths.

Recent MAV tight up with Anganwadi women have helped to spread their wings and reach to many more people around the states.

Inspired by the service MAV is providing,  Telangana Women and child develpoment principle secretary Sriman Jagadish Garu came forward to expand this service with govt support. Thus MAV with the support of Govt aganwadi women, MAV which has provided treatement for almost 3 lakhs people in 10 years has now treated and provided medicines to 3lakhs people in one year.

All Anganwadi women were trained by the MAV volunteers to conduct the screening tests and help in the camps.

 The equipments used like caloscopy in screening were created in-house to reduce the cost and utilize the money in a better way.

Every camp for screening 200 women costs over 60,000 which includes the providing of medicines when any abnormalities are detected. Follow ups are conducted by the MAV when any abnormality cases are detected and provided with medicines to the poor. All these costs are purely contributed by devotees.

HH Swamiji has appreciated all the Mahila Arogya Vikas Central Co-ordinator Smt Madhavi Ravindra Garu and other volunteers, anganwadi women and Srimati Aruna Raghava raddy Garu- who was the contributor for this camp and Sriman Kajaguda Venu Garu for the facilities and Srimati Sulochana Garu for the the medicines.
