Report on teachers training
The teachers of Jeeyar Gurukulams were trained for 16 days from 15.5.2014 to 30.5.2014 in residential mode in collaboration with APSCERT Hyderabad and other resource persons at Sri Rama NagaraJeeyar Gurukulam Teachers Training Programme Shamshabad , Mandal Ranga Reddy District
The training programme was inaugurated by Sri.Sri.Sri. Tridandi .Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji with His Mangalasasanams on 14.5.14 Swamiji blessed the teachers to take the best from the training and He wished them to give the best practices for the students in their respective Gurukulams.
The teachers underwent the training at APARD, Rajendranagar from 15.5.14 to 17.5.14 for three days, the SCERT resource persons imparted training on the curriculum revision , CCE assessment procedures and on new text books in the subjects from 18.5.14 to 22.5.14
Sriman.K.Vijay Babu English lecturer trained the teachers in using English language and the needed skills in communicating English. This helped the teachers to develop their basic grammar in English language.
The use of computer in education is inseparable. The ICT (The Information and communicative Technology) has become part of the learning, to update the teachers of jeeyer Gurukulams in computer education. A two day training was conducted from 23.5.14 to 24.5.14 in M.S.Word, Excel, Soft ware, Hardware skills, by Sriman.Vikram, Sriman.Vijay, Sriman.Swamy Naidu of Neo-Soft Technologies
As the Jeeyar Gurukulams are located in interior forests away from the hospitals, to give the best possible care for the children every teacher should have awareness on health education , On Health Education, for this purpose Dr.Ramnathan trained the teachers in the First –Aid and basic medical treatment.
Spoken English, Class – Room English and Functional English are the three major areas which empower and add value to the teacher in instruction and in creating good learning environment for meaningful interaction which made the teacher s think and articulate their ideas. In view of this from 25-5-14 to 28-05-14, a four day training was given by Sriman.B. Ashok Reddy and Smt. V. Neeraja , State Resource Group (SRGs) and English textbook writers of SCERT. The four day training enriched the teachers to develop and construct their own English language by linking the classroom experiences with real life experiences of outside the classroom. The teachers were trained to grow their confidence levels by developing different discourses like conversations, interviews, descriptions and stories by following the approach of holistic treatment of language.
The SCERT has revised the curriculum and developed the new textbooks and assessment process. On this, a two day training was conducted from 29-05-14 to 30-05-14, in subjects Telugu, Maths, Science, Social and Hindi, to give awareness on the philosophy of the textbooks, to familiarize transactional process and to sensitize the CCE assessment process. Prof. N. Upender Reddy , Head Dept. of Curriculum and Textbook development , Sri man. S. Vinayak Co- Ordinator , Smt. Madhavi, Sriman. Sridharacharya , Sriman. Ganapathy , Sriman. RathangaPani , Sriman K. Upender Rao, SRGs and and textbook writers of SCERT trained the teachers in concerned subjects. The teachers realized the purpose of teaching, understood the Academic Standards and they got the clarity on different tools of assessment under CCE.
SCERT has recommended review & follow up and they promised to do that required help coming to our Gurukulams. They also stated the new modules of 9th & 10th classes are being completed by them in the month of July 2014 and they are going to include our teachers in that program also.
During each training sessions, training course evaluation was done. The teachers’ performance was assessed based on their entry behavior and exit behavior during the training. Teachers’ reflections were taken and considered for next level of training. Resource Persons were given proper feedback.
Approximately 2000 pages Notes about the change of curriculum, text-Books 1st to 8th, CCE etc, were given to each Gurukulam .
Daily Pratah Smaraneeyam and Yoga classes at 5 A.M & Recapitulation after 6p.m.was done by Smt.Krishna Kumari.
Sri Sri Sri Ahobila Swamiji concluded the session with His Mangalasasanams.
