VT Srikakulam Raises Cancer Awareness Across Srikakulam District on World Cancer Day ( 4th February 2024).

In commemoration of World Cancer Day, VT Srikakulam conducted a comprehensive Cancer Awareness Program and rally at prominent educational institutions in Srikakulam district.

In the morning session, the event took place at SKY Agricultural College, SSR Puram, Etcherla Mandal. Dr. P. Malathi, a distinguished Gynaecologist, emphasized prevention and early detection of Cervical and Breast cancer. Additionally, Dr. P. Sindhura, an ENT Specialist, shed light on the impact of lifestyle habits on cancer. Dr. Vasavi, a Pathologist from RIMS, provided insights into the etiology and clinical manifestations of cancer. Smt. Usha Sree highlighted VT’s initiatives, particularly focusing on MAV, to students, staff, and women devotees from nearby temples. Approximately 700 individuals, comprising students and women, benefited from the program.

In the afternoon session, VT extended its outreach to Government Polytechnic College for Women, Srikakulam. A dedicated Cancer Awareness program was conducted, followed by a spirited rally covering a 2km distance from GPW SKLM to bypass junction, with students rallying behind cancer awareness slogans. Dr. P. Lasya shared crucial information on cancer etiology and prevention, engaging with students on gynaecological concerns. Over 150 women received valuable insights during the session. The program witnessed active participation from VT volunteers, including Smt. Shyamala, Smt. Jayalaxmi, and Anandarao Garu.

This concerted effort aimed to spread awareness and empower communities in the fight against cancer, leaving a significant impact across Srikakulam district.
